GPSTC is Georgia's premier 16 week, 809 hours, state-mandated training program for becoming a certified peace officer.

Our Take-Home Vehicle program allows officers to drive their patrol cars home, increasing visibility and readiness across the City.-
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to provide proof
Must possess a valid Driver's License (clean record required)
Must be at least 20 years old
Must hold a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Must pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation
No felony convictions
Must pass a polygraph examination
Must pass a pyschological evaluation
Must pass a drug screening

Must pass a physical fitness test to Georgia Department of Public Safety standards
Vision: Minimum 20/60 uncorrected in each eye, correctable to 20/40 or better with glasses or contacts
Must meet requirements for P.O.S.T. certification by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council
